What Youll Do as a School Psychologist
In this role, you will assess students for a wide range of emotional, academic, and behavioral needs. Your evaluations and data interpretations will guide individualized educational programming and behavioral interventions. Youll work closely with educators, counselors, and parents to identify barriers to learning, promote mental wellness, and ensure that every student has access to the tools and services they need to succeed.
State Licensure Requirements Virginia
To work as a School Psychologist in Virginia public schools, you must:

Possess a Masters or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology from a state-approved program

Hold a Pupil Personnel Services License with a School Psychologist endorsement from the Virginia Department of Education

Pass the Praxis II: School Psychology (Test Code 5402)

Complete a supervised internship and fulfill all background screening requirements
